About GeoIPHub
An IP intelligence API that verifies claims before publishing them.
Why we built it
Most IP databases are passive. They collect ranges from registries and lists, label them, and ship a file. When a label is wrong, there is no way to know why. GeoIPHub started from a different question: what if you verified the claim before publishing it? Before we flag an IP as a VPN or proxy, we attempt real protocol handshakes across 25+ ports and 11 VPN and proxy protocols, from OpenVPN and WireGuard to SOCKS5 and HTTP CONNECT. If the handshake fails, the flag does not ship.
What makes it different
Three things. First, active verification: detections are backed by handshakes and official sources, 30+ feeds including 10 VPN providers' own published server APIs, so the response can name the provider, not just say "VPN." Second, explainable scoring: the 0–100 fraud score is built from 40+ weighted signals, including exonerating ones, and scoring.detection_methods lists exactly which signals fired, so you can audit every verdict. Third, no field paywall: the free tier returns every data field. Plans differ on volume, retention, and support, never on data.
Where it is today
GeoIPHub today is one REST endpoint that returns the complete response across 10 groups, a set of free lookup tools, and a dashboard for managing API keys. That is the honest scope. SDKs, bulk endpoints, and other conveniences are on the roadmap. We list features when they ship, not before. If something on this site says it exists, it exists.
Verify, then publish
A flag ships only when the evidence supports it: a completed handshake, an official source, or a registry record. No guesses dressed up as facts.
Explain every verdict
Every score lists the exact signals that produced it. When a decision is challenged, you have a real answer, not a number you cannot defend.
Ship what is real
We document features when they exist, fix our own data corrections, and keep the surface small and accurate rather than long and aspirational.
